It is with sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing
of Hazel Estabrooks, age 87, of Dorchester Cape. Hazel
passed away at the Drew Nursing Home on Thursday, December 18, 2014
surrounded by loving family.
Born in
Dorchester, NB, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Rheta (Hicks)
Holmes.
Hazel was a faithful member of the
Faith Assembly Church in Moncton. She enjoyed knitting and
loved her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Hazel
was a quiet woman who loved her family and always looked forward to
get togethers with them.
Hazel will be dearly
missed by her children Myrna Steeves, Sackville, Evelyn (Francis)
Cormier, Dorchester Cape, and Thelma (Clifford) Chappell, Dorchester;
11 grandchildren,18 great grandchildren and one great great grandson;
brothers Ronald Holmes, Moncton and Arthur Holmes, Jolicure; sister
Rhoberta (Thomas) Steeves, Jolicure; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Wesley; infant
brother Henry; and son-in-law Hubert Steeves.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where family and friends will gather
to visit and share memories on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
pm. A funeral service for Hazel will take place at the Jones
Funeral Home on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11 am, Rev. Alfred
Cormier officiating. Burial will follow in the Sackville
Cemetery.
