It is with sadness in our hearts but rejoicing in heaven that
we announce the Promotion to Glory of Sadie (Butler)
Ells, the daughter of the late Walter and Sadie Butler
of Whitney Pier on December 3, 2014 in her 84th year. She
follows her husband Jules and sister Olive to heaven.
She will be sadly missed by children Don (Judy) Ells,
Darrell (Thelma) Ells, Majors Gwen (James) Hagglund, Shelley (Scott)
Trenholm and grandchildren Stephen, Kenneth (Melinda), Lisa,
Naomi-Lynn, Stuart, Veronica and Sally-Ann, great grandchildren Keira
and Henry.
A grandmother beyond measure she
took great joy in her grandchildren and they in her. She
will also be missed by her brother Clarence and sisters Irene, Dorothy
and Phoebe and many nephew and nieces. She was a
Salvationist all her life. Sadie was a beautiful Christian
spirit who loved and supported her family with her whole
being. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and baking and
gifted family and friends with much of her work. Her working
years were spent as a cook at the Kennel Club in Sackville and finally
as the night cook at Sackville Memorial Hospital, a job she excelled
at. Her remaining years were spent with much pride as a home
maker who always welcomed others into her home and was a true and good
friend to all. She will be sadly missed by wonderfully
remembered.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where
visiting hours will take place on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 7 to 9
pm. A committal service will follow on Saturday, December 6,
2014 at 11 am at the Sackville Cemetery. A memorial service
will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 2 pm, son-in-law Major
James Hagglund officiating.
