An "Angel" has left for a better place, leaving to
mourn her family and many friends left on Earth.
Marie Goodwin (nee George) passed away 04
October 2014, at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin, NB.
Marie was the youngest daughter of Alice (Cook) and Russell George,
Born 04 November 1926 in Midgic, NB.

life was about her family, friends, and anyone who crossed her
path. She loved animals, knitting, crafts, cooking and
volunteering on any level, golf, card games and travel. Upon
retirement and returning from 24 years in Dartmouth to Baie Verte, NB
in 1981, it didn't take Marie long to begin volunteering,
helping neighbours and being involved full tilt with the
UCW. She spent many happy hours at the Baie Verte Hall
quilting (if walls could talk!) Marie worked tirelessly side
by side with her best friend and husband of 69 and 1/2 years, Keith
Goodwin of Baie Verte.
Marie is survived by her
sons, Alan (Sharral) , Darmouth, NS, Stephen, Fall River, NS, and Dan
(Sheila) Burton, NB; a daughter, Sandy Slayter; sister, Bertha Scott,
Port Elgin; sister-in-law, Betty George and a brother-in-law Allison
Goodwin. Also left to mourn are four grandchildren, Todd,
Deena, Robert (Majorie), Tanya (Daniel); two great grandchildren; 2
great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Marie was predeceased by her
brother, Art George.
Heartfelt thank-you's go
out to all the staff of the Westford Nursing Home for Marie's loving
care, Dr. Graeme Stewart and Julia Campbell who ensured Keith saw his
"Bride" daily.
Marie will be
remembered by many in the area for her homemade fudge on Hallowe'en
night!
