The death of Madeline Pearl
Ward, 83, of Westcock, occurred at the Sackville
Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Born in
Sackville, Madeline was a daughter of the late Russel and Susan
(Estabrooks) Phinney.
Madeline was a stay at
home mom who loved her animals. For a brief time, she worked
as a waitress at Mel's Tearoom and BA Restaurant. She enjoyed family
times with her children, grandchildren and many brothers and
sisters.
She will be deeply missed by her
children, Neil (Karen), of Westcock, Roger (Patricia), of Sackville,
and Michael (Beth Steeves), of Westcock; seven grandchildren, Heather,
Devin, Colin, Philip, Jeffery, Kimberly, and Susan; six
great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Justin, Julie, Lucas, Lindsey and
Hayden; four sisters Rachel (Eber) Barkhouse, Moncton, Joan (Robert)
LeBlanc, Moncton, Sharon Estabrooks, Moncton, and Sheila (Wayne)
Sears, Port Elgin, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Madeline was predeceased by her
husband Harold; her daughters Susan and Joan, her brothers Whyman,
Charles and Garnet; and her sister Sybil Hicks.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral
Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) from where visitation
will be held 7-9 pm on Thursday, March 20, 2014. A funeral
service will be held from the funeral home on Friday at 2
pm. Burial will take place in the Westcock Cemetery in the
Spring.
Donations in memory of Madeline may be
made to the Westcock Cemetery or a charity of the donor's
choice.
