It is with great sadness
that his family announces the death of Guy Vinson Trenholm, age 91, at
Westford Nursing Home in Port Elgin, NB on Thursday, January 12,
2012. At his passing, after a short illness, Guy was
surrounded by his loving children.
Born January
14, 1920 in Timber River, he was the son of the late Job and Sadie
(Walton) Trenholm.
He was a veteran of World
War II, serving in Europe with the Cape Breton Highlanders from 1941
to 1945. He was employed by CNR for 33 years.
In 1951, he married Louise Avona Murray settling in
the Port Elgin area where they raised five children. Guy was
a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and friend
to many. He loved working in his garden, in the woods and
doing farm work.
He is survived by his 5
children Judy (Terry) Morrison, Earl (Nancy Morris), Joanne, Buddy
(Kay) and Sherry. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren
and 18 great-grandchildren.
Besides his
parents, he was predeceased by his wife Louise in 2008, brothers Earl
and Robert, sister Shirley and special daughter-in-law Dorothy.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral
Home, Port Elgin, 3 West Main St., (506-538-2241) where visiting hours
will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The
funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Monday, January
16, 2012 at 2 pm, William Drysdale DLM officiating. Burial
will take place in the Fernwood Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the
Westford Nursing Home Foundation Dining Room Fund or the charity of
your choice.
