It is with deep sadness we regret to announce the passing of
John Carter Flemming, age 91, of Port
Elgin. John passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at

Born in Port Elgin,
he was a son of the late Roland and Flora (Sainsbury) Flemming.
Dad loved playing crib, rug hooking, wood working and
taking walks in the woods. He adored his family; his
enjoyment of life could be seen in his playful smirk and the sparkle
in his blue eyes. He was a veteran of World War II, serving
in Canada, Great Britain and Europe. He participated in the
D-Day Operations and the liberation of Holland.
He will be sadly missed by the love of his life, his wife of 62
years, Florence (Goodwin), Port Elgin; children Betty (David) Jones,
Saint John, Nancy (John) Elaschuk, Moncton, Shirley (Roy) Baillieul,
Moncton, Susan (Gary) Dobson, Fredericton, Danny (Cynthia), Alton, ON,

grandchildren; sisters Julie Roach, Ontario, Roberta Rutledge,
Dorchester, Mae (Josh) Purney, Nanaimo, BC, and Eileen (Mitchell)
Smith, Sackville; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers Kenneth, Frank and Archer; sisters
