Passed away on Monday,
July 26, 2010 at Spencer's Nursing Home, Moncton.
Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband of 28 years, Dr.
Dean Crawford and by 2nd husband Lewis Carruthers and 1st husband Fred
Ogden, by sisters Myrtle, Helen, Edith and brothers Joseph, Aben,
Cameron and Lawrence.
Dorothy is survived by
loving daughters Marlene Ascroft (Lester, deceased), Moncton, Susan
Prosser (Rod, deceased), Riverside Albert and Roberta Kasbey (Wally),
Ottawa, step daughter Anne Dixon (David) Sackville and step son David
Crawford , Moncton. She will be fondly remembered by 8
grandchildren, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; one
remaining sister Ruby Kosovich (Nick), Regina and sisters-in-law,
nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was born in
Beersville, Kent Co. and moved to Moncton on the death of her first
husband and has lived in Sackville for 32 years, recently at the
McNair Manor, Riverview, and finally at Spencer's Nursing Home,
Moncton.
Dorothy worked for many years in the
legal community and was private secretary to the late Chief Justice
Bridges. She was a recipient of the Queens Silver Jubille
Medal (1977).
Her strength of character and her
love for life were a few of her many genuine qualities.
Always a true lady, Dorothy faced her last challenging years the same
way she lived her whole life, with dignity and an undaunted
spirit.
Her family is especially thankful to
everyone at the McNair Manor and Spencer's Nursing Home for their
attentive care and compassion.
Funeral
arrangements are in care of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St.,
Sackville, (506-364-1300) where the funeral will be held on Thursday,
July 29, 2010 at 11 am, followed by a time of tea and
fellowship. There will be no visitation. Burial
will take place in the Sackville Cemetery. Flowers or
donations to the charity of your choice greatly accepted in Dorothy's
memory.
