Jean Brown

Jean Brown, age 84, of Sackville, passed away peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, July 4, 2010.

Born on Bell Island, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Kathleen (Ryan) Downey.

Jean was a member of St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church.  After raising her family, she worked at the Mount Allison University for 20 years.  She was a lady devoted to her family, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her.

She will be dearly missed by her children Terry, Fort McMurray, AB, Katherine (Doran Ramsay), Sackville, Kevin, Fort McMurray, AB; grandchildren, Melissa, Bridget, Robyn, Alice, Alanna, Luke, Joel and Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Tristin, Connor, Anna, Dylan, Kyle, Ryan, Mikayla; brothers Bernard (Diane), Kitchener, ON, John (Margaret) Wyoming, ON, Edward (Angela), Marystown, NL; sisters, Gertie (Gil) LeBlanc, Bramalea, ON, Kathleen Loveys, Gander, NL, Margaret (Ted) Butt, Barrie, ON, Cecilia Wade, Kitchener, ON, and Joan Randall, Kitchener, ON.

She was predeceased by her husband Fred, sons Fred Jr., Richard and John, brothers Kevin, Brian, and sisters Mary Kent, Patricia Maillet, and Dorothy.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB where visiting hours will take place on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm.  The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 11 am, Father Allison Carrol officiating. Burial will follow in the Sackville Cemetery.
