It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Elizabeth Briggs, age 98, of Bayfield, NB.  Margaret passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Westford Nursing Home.

Born in Penobsquis, NB, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Marion (McLeod) Morton.

Margaret was a graduate of the Nursing School in Saint John, NB and worked as a Nurse in Saint John, and Sackville, NB for over 15 years.  She was a member of Wesley United Church in Bayfield until it closed.  She was also a member of the UCW.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son Bernard (Barbara) Briggs of Bayfield, daughter; Gail Creelman, of Halifax, 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband Robert Briggs in 1989, sisters  Marjorie Robinson, Ann Smith, and Marilla Doney and brother Jack, as well as son in law William Creelman.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin and Sackville, NB (506-364-1300).  Visitation will be held from 1 until 2 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, followed immediately at 2 pm with her funeral service, all at the Jones Funeral Centre, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, NB, Rev. Carolyn Rushton, officiating.  Burial will take place in the Bayfield Cemetery in the Spring.

Margaret's family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to everyone at Westford Nursing Home who helped care for her during her stay there.
