In the presence of his family, Edward Richard, age 89, of Sackville, passed away peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, September 4, 2018.  Born in Shemogue, NB, Eddy was a son of the late Alexander (Alec) and Mary-Jane Richard.

Eddy was a gentle, kind man who was well loved.  Anyone who knew Eddy realized that he was very patient, caring and giving, always willing to lend a helping hand.   He was a talented musician who sang and played the guitar, with a love for old time country music.  Eddy had worked as a welder for Enterprise Foundry for many years up until his retirement.

Eddy was a member of St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Sackville.

He will be dearly missed by his son, Robert "Bob" (Edna) Richard, Sackville; his grandchildren, Roger, Denise, Jennifer, Nicole, and Yvette; several great grandchildren; a brother, Camille, Ottawa, Walter, Oshawa, Emerise (Vincent) Wood, Sackville, Levina Lucas, Oshawa, Roger (Marilyn), Oshawa, and a sister Doris Langendyk, Kitchener; a dear friend, Marion Patterson, as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Roger Richard; a grandson, Matthew Richard; and a sister, Clara Sterling.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where a time of visitation will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  A funeral service will be held at St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:30 am.  Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.

Donations in memory of Eddy may be made to the Canadian Red Cross or a charity of the donor's choice.
