With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Allan C. Crandall, age 86, of Dorchester.  Allan passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville. 

Born in Moncton, NB, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Nora (Whelpley) Crandall.

Allan was a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion for over 30 years.  He was the last secretary of the Dorchester Branch.

A long time land surveyor in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.  After his retirement from surveying, he found a meaningful association with the law firm of Ove B. Samuelson and the firm of Frosty Hollow Silviculture and Logging Inc.

He is survived by his son Allan; daughters Sheryl (Sterling) Matthews, Cynthia Crandall, Susan Crandall, Patricia Crandall; 6 grandchildren James, Elizabeth, Dawn, Rory, Christopher and Claire; 6 great grandchildren Anthony, Aaliyah, Eric, Emmitt, Evelyn, and Arthur; brother David (Velma) Crandall;  also by many friends whose names are not listed, they know who they are. 

He was predeceased by sister Caroline Crandall.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 2 pm, Life Celebrant Scott Balser officiating.

Allan's family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Sackville Memorial Hospital and the Drew Nursing Home for their professional care during Allan's final years.
