It is with great sadness that we
announce the passing of Elmer Lloyd
Mitton, 78, of Sackville, at the Drew Nursing Home on
Tuesday, May 15, 2018 after a brief illness. Born in
Sackville, Elmer was a son of the late Herman and Marion (Tower)
Mitton.
Elmer had worked at TRHS and enjoyed his
time with the teachers and students. He was a proud
supporter of the Titans and joyfully assisted with the special needs
students. He loved to spend time driving, especially taking
a Rockport tour.
Elmer was talented with his hands and in
particular he enjoyed woodworking. He made seven custom
treasure boxes, one for each of his grandchildren. A
dedicated family man, he was deeply devoted to his family and
friends. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife of almost
fifty-nine years, Flora (nee Hicks) of Sackville, he will be sadly
missed by his children Douglas (Jane), Brockville, ON; Della (Kirk)
Estabrooks, Sackville and Daren (Angelika), North Bay, ON; seven
grandchildren, Becky (Jeff), Matt, Andrew, Samantha (Blaine), Brad,
Sara and Melissa; great grandsons Chase and Malcolm; a brother Warren,
Sackville, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Elmer was
predeceased by his brother Larry.
Arrangements have been entrusted into
the care and supervison of Jones Funeral
Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (506-364-1300) where a
memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 2 pm.
