It is with sadness we announce the
passing of Eric Wheaton, age 70, of
Midgic. Eric passed away at home with his wife Nancy by his
side on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 after a courageous battle with breast
cancer.
Born in Midgic, NB, he was a son of
Betty (Bulmer) Wheaton and the late Cyril Wheaton.
Eric worked at Mount Allison University
for 39 years and retired in 2008. His love for gardening
after retirement continued to expand as he had a passion for
cultivating plants. He enjoyed going to the Camp for many
years on Saturdays cooking food and socializing with friends.
As an avid outdoorsman, Eric spent much of his free time
working outside either tending to the winter's wood, or his hobby of
fixing small engines for friends and family. He was someone
who would always help anyone for projects big or small.
He will be dearly missed by his wife
Nancy (LeBlanc), Midgic, NB, daughter Leigh Ann, Arlington,
VA. In addition to his mother Betty, he is also survived by
brothers Terry, Vancouver, BC and Dean, Midgic, NB; sisters; Wendy
(Charles) Austin, Aboujagane, NB, Lorraine (the late Gary Reid),
Dorchester, and Eileen (Curtis) Wells, Sackville, NB.
A special thank you to the Sackville
Extra-Mural Program, Moncton Hospital Oncology Clinic and Palliative
Care Program.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). A graveside service
will be held in the Midgic Cemetery on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 2
