It is with sadness we announce the
passing of Winnifred "Winnie" Bernard, age 91,
of Sackville. Winnifred passed away
peacefully, with family by her side, on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the
Drew Nursing Home.
Born in Middle Sackville, NB, she was a
daughter of the late Stanley Cormier and Edith (Pellerin) Stokes and
step-father Carl Stokes.
Winnie nursed in Saint John, NB,
Ontario, and Moncton Hospital. She enjoyed music, dancing,
clogging, and playing her guitar. She sang at Karaoke, and
George's Jamboree. She loved going to church and enjoyed
being in the choir. She enjoyed spending time with her
friends and family.
She will be dearly missed by her
daughter, Darlene Holmes, Sackville, NB; son David (Carol) McCann of
Agassiz, BC. Winnie had 6 grandchildren, Miranda Hurley,
Charles and Alan Dawson, Lee and Brian McCann and Sandee
McCann-Säämänen; 8 great grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by 2 great
grandchildren D.J and Justus McCann. The last surviving
member of her immediate family, she was also predeceased by sisters
Yvonne (Charles) Emmerson and Eileen (Clarence) Robichaud as well as
brothers Francis (Mable) and Henry Cormier.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville,
NB (506-364-1300) In keeping with Winnie's wishes,
there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside
service will take place in St. Edward's Parish Cemetery in the
spring.

Winnie's memory may do so to the Drew Nursing Home or the charity of
your choice.
Winnie's family would like to extend a

phenomenal care, always going above and
beyond.
