Alice Atkinson, age 79, of Westcock, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully at the Drew Nursing Home, October 5, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.  Alice was the daughter of the late Gordon and Gladys (Carter) Bulmer.

Alice was a wonderful homemaker, loving wife and mother.  She is survived by her loving and dedicated husband, Percy, 2 daughters, Debbie Smith (Allan), of Sackville, Angela Atkinson (Jimmy) of Aulac, two sons, Gordon Atkinson (Belinda) of Dartmouth, and Shawn Atkinson (Joan) of Sackville; ten grandchildren, Scott, Ryan, Melissa, Amie, Kaylee, Layc, Lukas, Kaitlin, Madison, Lauren; six great grandchildren, Logan, Lexi, Zoey, Joey, Rheed, and Cedric.  Two brothers, Stanley Bulmer (Ivy), of Fredericton, and Wayne Bulmer (Janet) of Aulac, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Gladys; two brothers, Murray Bulmer (Maureen), Fredericton, and Walter Bulmer (Jeanette) of Point de Bute, and a sister Doreen Estabrooks (Robert).

Alice enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, camping, playing cards, knitting, crocheting, watching figure skating on TV, and she loved sitting on her patio swing on the back deck enjoying the sun.  She also was an avid Wheel of Fortune follower.  It was an evening ritual for her and her husband to watch the program together.  Alice was a member of St. Ann's Anglican Church.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, Sackville (506-536-1300).  Honoring Alice's wishes, there is to be no visitation or funeral service.  A private family burial will take place at a later date.  As requested by Alice, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Arthritis Society, The Heart & Stroke Foundation, St. Ann's Anglican Church, or a charity of the donor's choice.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to everyone at the Drew Nursing Home, particularly all the staff on the Chignecto Unit for their compassion and for going that extra mile to make her smile and put that twinkle in her eye.  Thank you so much for the care and kindness you gave our mother.  Thank you to all the doctors, too numerous to mention, who attended to Mom over the years.  Finally her pain is gone and she is at peace.

Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Alice's online memorial at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the Jones Funeral Home Facebook Page.
