St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, Port
Elgin.
It is with sadness that we announce the
peaceful passing of Fred "Freddie"
Cormier, age 79, of Port Elgin. Fred passed
away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Moncton
Hospital.
Born in Shemogue, he was a son of the
late Joseph and Mathilde (Legere) Cormier.
Fred was employed with the NB Liquor
Corp for 30 years. He was a member St. Clement's Roman Catholic
Church, and the Gun Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved
duckhunting and was known for his gun-smithing.
He will be dearly missed by his wife
Jeannine (Dugas), Port Elgin; son Marc (Dawn), Moncton; very special
granddaughter Emma, Moncton; two sisters, Emma and Emerise Cormier;
nieces and nephews; hunting buddy Duane Arsenault.
He was predeceased by sisters Rita
Cormier, Mabel Fagan and brother Leo.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home's Port Elgin Chapel, 3 West Main
Street, Port Elgin. Honouring Fred's wishes, there is to be
no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clements
Roman Catholic Church, Port Elgin on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11
am, Father Allison Carroll officiating. Burial will take
place in the Parish Cemetery at a later date.
Donations in memory of Fred may be made
to the SPCA, or a charity of the donor's choice.
