Vernon Lewis
Estabrooks passed away on November 9, 2016 at the age
of 102 at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville. Born December
14, 1913, in Centre Village, NB, Vernon was a son of the late Lewis
and Louise (Wigmore) Estabrooks.
Vernon was a hard-working labourer and
farmer who enjoyed spending time at the area exhibitions. He
was always available to lend a hand whenever needed. During
a stretch, while working in Mount View, Vernon and Gerald Smith worked
together and became best friends. To this day, Vernon keeps
close bonds to the Smith family and is considered a dear friend and
family member. He was a member of the Sackville Senior
Citizen's Club, the Sackville Rod & Gun Club and the Chignecto
Wagoneers.
Vernon is the last surviving member of
his immediate family. He will be missed by several nieces
and nephews.
Besides his parents, Vernon was
predeceased by his sisters, Gertrude Bowser and Marjorie Crossman, and
his brothers; Norman, Frank, Lloyd, Lorne and Jack.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where visitation will be held on
Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 12pm until the time of the funeral
service at 2 pm. Interment to follow in the Midgic
Cemetery. Pastor Hal Lowther officiating.
