Pauline Eliza Jean Smallwood, 72 of Murray Corner, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Born in Little Shemogue, NB, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Mabel Murray (Simpson).

Pauline was an exceptional homemaker, always cooking and caring for her family. She previously worked with the Bostford Fishing Association as recording secretary and coordinator during the herring and crab fishing seasons. She also worked  as a clerk at Lake’s General Store where she truly enjoyed chatting with customers and community members alike.

She is survived by two sons Derrick (Shirlee) of Murray Corner and Gordon (Shirley) of Moncton; four brothers, Lyman Murray (Loella) of Murray Corner, John Murray (Alice) of Mount Uniacke, Lynn Murray (Deidre) of Smithers BC, Tommy Murray (Peggy) of Baie Verte; Two sisters Hazel Sprague of Saint John and Peggy Fitzpatrick of Riverview;  five grandchildren Samantha, Graham (Shelby), Darcy, Ryan and Alex; three great granddaughters Madison, Isabella and Alexa as well as many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by the love of her life, her husband Edward (March 2016), her infant daughter Stephanie (1964), her parents Claude (1978); Mabel (2002) and one sister Dorothy (1961).

Above all, Pauline loved her family. She had a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren and great granddaughters always placing their needs above her own. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the camp, gardening, playing cards, bowling and knitting, ensuring everyone was kept warm and well fed. Pauline loved penguins and had an extensive collection to prove it. She was an avid Jeopardy follower for which her broad knowledge base served her very well.

Arrangements are under care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, Sackville and Port Elgin, (506-364-1300).  A time of visitation will be held from the First United Church, Murray Corner on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 6-9 pm.  A funeral service celebrating Pauline's life will be held at the church on Sunday at 3 pm, William Drysdale, DLM officiating.  Burial to follow in the Fernwood Cemetery.

At the request of the family, donations to the First United Church of Murray Corner in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated.

Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Pauline's online memorial at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the Jones Funeral Home Facebook Page.
