With extreme sadness and heavy hearts,
we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Harold
Trenholm, age 72, of Cape Spear, as the result of a
motor vehicle accident on Thursday, April 28, 2016. Born
December 22, 1943 in Cape Spear, he was a son of Catherine
(Hutchison) and the late Driscoll Trenholm.
Harold was a lifelong and accomplished
fisherman; sea water was his blood. He had been a very active boat
builder when fishing boats were wooden. He enjoyed bluegrass
and gospel music. Harold was a strong and driven man, not
even cancer could slow him down, having recently completed seven weeks
of treatment. He looked forward to spending time with his family.
Harold is survived and deeply missed by
his wife, Oressa Sterling, and her children Sandy Fletcher, Crapaud,
PE, Brenda (Gerry) Landry, Aulac, Wanda (Steven Smith), Dorchester,
Fred, Sackville, and Kirk (Mary), Riverview; grandchildren, Sarah,
Nathan, Amanda, Matthew, Chase, Tyler, and Megan, and great
grandchildren, Dylan, Riley, Rowan, Ryder, Aiden, Hudson, Landon,
Paisley, Liam, Aria, and Jakob. Harold is also survived by
his mother, Catherine; brothers, Robert, Halifax, Lyman (Christine),
Carl (Muriel), all of Cape Spear, and sisters, Mona (Erwin) Wood,
Truro, Darlene (Peter) Pierce, Quispamsis, Isabel (Arthur) Simpson,
Hampton, NB, Margaret Anne (Danny) Edmunds, Bonnie Arsenault and
Elaine Gray, all of Moncton, and Betty Primmer, Wainwright, BC, as
well as several close nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased
by a brother, Larry, and a sister, Norma.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where a time of visitation will
be held 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Sunday, May 1, 2016. A funeral
service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, May 2 at 2 pm with
interment to follow in the Westcock Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Harold may be
made to the Tree Of Hope Foundation, Extra Mural Services, Sackville,
or a charity of one's choice.
