It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Cedric Harry Sears, age 83, of Sackville.  Cedric passed away in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. 

Born in Point de Bute, NB, he was a son of the late Lorne and Maude (Holmes) Sears. 

In his younger years, Cedric loved hockey and was a goal tender for many years.  He enjoyed playing crib, bowling and spending time with his friends at the Alley.  He adored animals, especially his little dogs Prince and Sammy.

Cedric will be dearly missed by his loving wife Claire (Bourque), Sackville; his children Reggie, Sackville, Rosemary (Colin) Cole, West Sackville, Wanda Sears, Sackville, Michael (Sheila), Dorchester; 12 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; brothers Gerald (Betty), Kelowna, BC, Reginald (Rosaline), Sackville, Laurie, Sackville; sisters Winnie Hachey, Dieppe, Edith Blacklock, Port Elgin, and Marie Trenholm, Dorchester; several nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by his son Wayne; grandson Ben Sears; sisters Nora Phinney and Shirley Sears.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will take place on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.  A funeral service for Cedric will be held at the Jones Funeral Home on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2 pm, Rev. Hal Lowther officiating.  Burial will take place in the Midgic Cemetery at a later date.
