It is with sadness that we announce the
passing of Ansel Jerome Estabrooks, age
90, of Sackville, NB. Ansel passed away peacefully at the
Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 9,
2016.
Born in Middle Sackville, he was a son
of the late Mace and Evelyn Estabrooks.
Ansel was a veteran of World War II,
serving with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. as a transport
driver in France, Holland, Germany and Belgium. He was a
long time employee as a plumber at Mount Allison University.
In his younger years he loved to play music, and his love of music
continued throughout his life. He enjoyed time at the camp,
and enjoyed playing cards and time outdoors, especially
fishing.
He will be sadly missed by children
Rick, Sackville, Cindy (Ronald) Wry, Amherst, Todd (Margot), Moncton,
Mark (Jennifer), Sackville 11 grandchildren; Sara, Lacey, Darren,
Ryan, Randy, Timothy, Ashley, Cole, Marley, Zoë and Eme;
siblings, George (Barbara), Barrie, ON; Betty (Ellsworth) Patterson,
Sackville, Barry "Butch" (Nicole), Westcock, several nieces
and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Shirley
and sisters Gloria Cole and Edith Hicks and brother
Harley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB, where visiting hours
will take place on Saturday from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral
service will take place on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at 2 pm, Rev. Hal
Lowther officiating. Burial will take place in the Sackville
Cemetery in the spring.
