The death of Donald Scott
MacRae, 64, of Port Elgin, occurred at the Moncton
Hospital on Thursday, January 28, 2016. Born in Bayfield,
Don was a son of the late Ernest and Eileen (Durant) MacRae.
Don had worked at Mount Allison University at the
heating plant for over 30 years. He was an avid hunter and
outdoors man. He had a great love for his family, especially
his girls and his grandchildren.
He will be
greatly missed by two daughters, Shella (Gordie) Butcher, Port
Elgin,NB, and Kelly MacRae, Baie Verte, NB; four grandchildren, Scott,
Jordan, Nicholas, and Kaylee; brothers, Blaine MacRae and Myron
(Roberta) MacRae; a sister, Brenda (Fred) Kean; companion, Bernadette
McGraw and special friend, Lori Chappell, as well as several nieces
and nephews.
Besides his parents, Don was
predeceased by his niece Kimberly Stern.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of
Jones Funeral Home. A time of
visitation will be held from their Port Elgin location, 3 West Main
Street, Port Elgin (538-2241) on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 7-9 pm
with a funeral service at 11 am on Tuesday, February 2,
2016. William Drysdale DLM officiating.
Interment will take place in the Bayfield Cemetery in the
Spring.
Donations in memory of Don may be made
to the Moncton Hospital ICU Surgical Unit.
