It is with sadness that we must announce the passing of
Bertha Annie Scott, age 95, of Port
Elgin, NB. Bertha passed away peacefully at home on Sunday,
January 24, 2016 with her family at her bedside.
Born in Midgic, NB, she was a a daughter of the late Russell and
Alice (Cook) George.
She worked for many years
at the Post Office. A very active volunteer in the community
of Port Elgin, she was essential in the development of Westford
Nursing Home where she continued to volunteer and often would be found
playing the piano. She was active in the St. James
Presbyterian Church, a prominent member of the Eastern Star, and many
other local organizations.
She will be dearly
missed by her children Russell (Josephine), Nappan, NS, Norman (Vicki
Copp), Amherst, NS; Norma Copp, Red Deer, AB and Gary (Darla), Port
Elgin, NB; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and 1 great
great grandchild; several nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her husband Thomas in 1976, her son Tommy;
brother Art and sister Marie Goodwin.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home,
(506-538-2241). Cremation has taken place. A
celebration of life for Bertha Scott will be held on Saturday, January
30 in the basement of the Baie Verte Hall from 1 pm until 4
pm. Burial will take place in the Four Corners Cemetery,
Sackville in the spring.
Bertha's family wishes
