It is with sadness that we announce the passing
of Elaine Lund, 90, of
Sackville. Elaine was a daughter of the late Harry and Vera
(Snowdon) Maxwell.
Elaine worked at Enterprise Foundry for many
years. She loved being out and about. She would go to bingo seven
nights a week if she could. She was always helping out where she
could, driving anybody, anywhere. She loved her cats and dogs, most of
them she borrowed from other people. Elaine and her husband John loved
horse racing, often traveling afar to watch and gamble a little. She
sold and delivered more peanuts than anybody else around to fundraise
for the Kidney Foundation.
She was
predeceased by her husband, John in 1991; her brother Frank Maxwell,
and sister Hazel.
Elaine will be sadly missed
by her son Gary (Joan), Moncton, NB.; her grandson Christopher,
Sackville and granddaughter Jillian (Troy), Lancaster, CA. She will
also be missed by her sister in law, Norma Maxwell, her niece Ruthie,
and a sister in law Jennie Coy, Fredericton.
Many thanks to the Sackville Special Care Home on
Charlotte Street where she was well looked after for the past 5 years.
Also sincere gratitude is extended to the nurses and support staff at
the Sackville Memorial Hospital and especially to Dr. Graeme Stewart.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street Sackville
(506-364-1300). Honoring Elaine's wishes, there is to be no
visitation or funeral service. A graveside service will be
held at the Sackville Cemetery in the Spring.
Donations in memory of Elaine may be made to the Sackville
Cemetery or the Canadian Kidney Foundation.
Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Elaine's online
memorial at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the funeral home Facebook Page.
