It is with sadness, that we announce the sudden passing of Ernest David "Ernie" Sears, age 76, of Sackville.  Ernie passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday morning, December 27, 2015.

Born in Midgic, NB, he was a son of the late Merville and Lillian (Crossman) Sears.

Ernie worked at Lounsbury's all his life, managing the parts department.  He was an active fireman for 40 years for the town of Sackville.  After his retirement he set up Ernie Sears Music out of his home, where he spread his love of music to students and musicians alike.  He loved his family, and enjoyed spending time at his wood lot.  

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Gwen Gulliver Sears, Sackville; children Brian (Norma), Wood Point, Karen Sears (Nelson Cabral) , Westcock, and Rhonda (Tim) Dean, Halifax, NS; 7 grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Jordan, Adam, Jasmine, Zachary, and Finnian; 3 great grandchildren, Kaleb, Sophia, and Cailyn; brother Bill (Louise), Aulac; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son Randy in 2001, brother Forrest; sisters Mildred Richardson and Betty Trenholm.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.  Ernie's funeral service will be held at Jones Funeral Home on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 2 pm, Rev. Catherine Smith officiating.  Burial will take place at the Sackville Cemetery in the spring.
