It is with sadness that we announce the
passing of Sherman Richards at the age of
100 years old. Sherman passed away peacefully at the
Sackville Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family on Sunday,
November 29, 2015.
Sherman was born in Centre Village, NB,
son of the late Frank and Edith (Fillmore) Richards.
He was a conductor, and later brakeman
with the CNR, retiring in 1968. Sherman was a lifelong
farmer on his family farm in Midgic, and was an active member and
trustee of the Midgic Baptist Church.
He will be dearly missed by his
children, Hyman (Sheila), Midgic, Marilyn King, Kingston, ON, Darryl,
Sackville, Dianne (Floyd) Wheaton, Midgic, Iona (Douglas) Crosthwaite,
Dorchester, Noel (Elizabeth), Kingston, ON, Cheryl Wilson, Kingston,
ON, Janice (David) Sears, Sackville, Terry (Susan), Sackville, Ralph,
Sackville, Charlene Richards, Midgic; 14 grandchildren; 30 great
grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Verna
Hicks, son John, and the last surviving member of his immediate
family, he was also predeceased by his 8 brothers and 2
sisters.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville (506-364-1300) where
visiting hours will take place on Monday from 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral service will be held at the Jones Funeral Home on Tuesday,
December 1, 2015 at 2 pm, Pastor Hal Lowther officiating.
Burial will follow in the Midgic Cemetery.
