It is with sadness we announce the passing of Edward Lumgair,
age 67, of Sackville. Edward passed away peacefully at The
Moncton Hospital on Thursday, November 12, 2015 with his family by his
side.
Born in Morden, Manitoba, he was a son of
the late James and Colleen (Smith) Lumgair.
After graduating with a Diploma in Agriculture as a mature
student in 1970, he returned to high school and completed his grade
12. He was employed with Canada Agriculture in Winnipeg,
then transferred to Sackville, NB in 1975, met and married his wife
Sandra White in 1978. In 1985 he transferred to Correctional
Services and retired in 2005 after 33 years of service.
He was active in various sports over his life time,
along with members of one time, he was inducted to the Manitoba
Baseball Hall of Fame in 2011.
Edward will be
sadly missed by his daughter, Shellie (Nicholas) Lusas, Prospect,
Connecticut,; 2 granddaughters Lelija and Natalya; mother in law, Faye
White, Moncton; brother Hugh, Morden, Manitoba; sister Ruth (Barry)
Clark, Grandview, Manitoba; sisters in law Catherine White, Riverview,
NB, Judy White (Richard Robichaud), Woodpoint, NB; several nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving wife
Sandra Lumgair in 2005.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB
(506-364-1300) where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday,
November 17, 2015 at 2 pm, Rev. Nigel Weaver officiating. A
time of tea and fellowship will follow in the Jones Funeral
Home. Burial will take place at a later date in
Manitoba.
