The death of Hanson
Charles Spence, 74, of Shemogue, occurred on Monday,
November 2, 2015. Born in Shemogue, Hanson was a son of the
late Prescott and Lily (Burgess) Spence.
Hanson had worked as a fisherman and
truck driver. He was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting
and camping. He was a kind and loving man who will be missed
by all who knew him.
He is survived by three sons, Larry
(Janice), Portage, NB; David (Joanne), Cap-Pele, NB and Ricky,
Edmonton, AB; grandchildren, Nina Spence; Kelly Spence; Travis Spence,
Krista Spence, and Brianna Callloway; great grandchildren, Hanson
Spence and Abigail Spence; brothers, Edward (Alma), Shemogue, Myrton,
Shemogue and a sister Ida Bourque, Shemogue.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased
by a daughter Brenda and a son Brian.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of Jones Funeral Home. A time of visitation will
be held from their Port Elgin location, 3 West Main Street (538-2241),
on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 7-9 pm. A funeral mass
will be held at St. Timothy's Roman Catholic Church, Shemogue on
Friday at 10:30 am. Burial to follow in the parish
cemetery.
Donations in memory of Hanson may be
made to the family or directly to the funeral home to aid in the
funeral expenses.
