It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Austin
Frederick Trenholm, age 90, of Cape Tormentine, NB. Austin
passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday, October
14, 2015.
Born in Baie Verte, NB, he was a son of the late Parker and
Winnifred (Oulton) Trenholm.
Austin was a veteran of World War II, serving in
Canada. He was then a lifelong fisherman fishing out of Cape
Tormentine. He was a life member of the Cape Tormentine Royal Canadian
Legion. Austin loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his
many cats.
He is survived by daughter Sheron (Derrell) Sears, Armstrong,
BC; son Jerry (Wanda), Riverview; their mother Evelyn Trenholm,
Riverview; 4 grandchildren, Daniel, Sonia, Lena and Meghan; 4 great
grandchildren, Owen, Austin, Grace and Haidyn; sister Doreen (Sheldon)
Stright, Lizmore, NS; caregiver and special friends Arthur and Shelley
Mallory, Cape Tormentine.
He was predeceased by 1 grandson Gerald Boucher; great
grandchildren, Amber and Brandy Narine; brother
William.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home
(506-538-2241). Visiting hours will be held at Jones Funeral
Centre, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8
pm with a Legion Memorial Service by the Cape Tormentine Royal
Canadian Legion at 6 pm. The funeral service will take place
on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 3 pm at the Trinity United Church,
Cape Tormentine, Wayne Jarvis, DLM officiating. Internment
will take place at the Bayfield Cemetery, followed by a reception at
the Cape Tormentine Legion.
